100 Series Land Cruiser: Bora Wheel Spacer Install

Why install wheel spacers on a 100 Series Land Cruiser? Well there are lots of reasons why that range from wider track width, more stable ride, more aggressive stance, etc. But the most common reason is that you want to run a different wheel that what came on your vehicle stock. Because of the front hub design of the 100 Series, it is hard to run other popular Toyota OEM wheels from Tundra's and 200 Series Land Cruisers without wheel spacers. The rear wheel spacers are easy, there is no hub and lots of companies make the standard wheel spacer for a 5x150mm lug pattern. 200 Series, Tundras, and Sequoias all run this same rear spacer. The front spacer on the other hand, has limited options as it is machined to clear the front hub on the 100 Series. In my research I only found two manufacturers, Spidertrax (Sold by Slee and Bora. I have the Slee Spacers on my 1998 LX470, but went with the Bora's on the 2003 Land Cruiser mostly for cost savings. Bora runs about $50 cheaper for the front and $30 cheaper in the rear.
Quality
The Bora wheel spacer is a quality product. I ordered them online and they contacted me shortly after letting me know their lead times. This was very helpful as I needed them relatively quickly as the street tires on this 100 Series are pretty worn. They provided me with two options: raw aluminum or black anodized. The raw aluminum would cut the lead time down by 2 weeks so I chose that option. To my surprise I received the raw aluminum spacers in less than a week, beating the estimate by 2 weeks. Wheels spacers look great and included all required lug nuts for installation. I chose 1.25" width and I would say this is the minimum width required for most wheel options you want to bolt on your 100 series.

Installation
Installation was very easy, remove each wheel/tire, bolt the spacer up to the stock lug studs with the provided lug nuts, then bolt the wheel/tire to the new spacer using your existing lug nuts. I added a small drop of Lock Tight (red) to each of the provided lug nuts and torqued them to spec. Note: the front spacers can only be mounted one way, so keep changing the orientation until you clear all the drive flange bolts. Took less than an hour to install and will allow me to run the 200 Series wheels that I found for cheap on Facebook Marketplace. Now on to the next step in the process, new tires!
